The 1st NYS Reuse Summit

We were proud to be a part of history in the making!

New York’s State’s first-ever Reuse Summit was held on June 16, 2022, in Ithaca, NY.

The event hosted community leaders from the reuse, materials management, recycling, and design industry along with students interested in this exciting movement from across New York State. The day featured innovative and inspirational models of reuse and highlighted many benefits that the reuse model can generate for communities. Together, we also explored the challenges and opportunities to expand reuse. The NYS Reuse Summit was a collaborative effort of Syracuse University's Center for Sustainable Community Solutions (CSCS), Finger Lakes Reuse, the NYS Center for Sustainable Materials Management (CSMM), the Susan Christopher son Center for Community Planning, and the NYS Association for Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling (NYSAR). This was a hybrid event, and we were very fortunate to have had 160 in-person and virtual thinkers and change-makers participated during the event.
